The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia, and the dentist will use special instruments to loosen the tooth before removing it.
Another common procedure is the removal of impacted wisdom teeth. Impacted wisdom teeth are those that do not fully emerge from the gums, and they can cause pain, swelling, and infection. The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia or IV sedation and the dentist will make an incision in the gums to remove the tooth.

Dental Implants
Dental implant surgery is a procedure in which a metal post is inserted into the jawbone to support a replacement tooth. This procedure is regularly performed at Hood River Dental and typically requires local anesthesia or IV sedation. After the implant is inserted, the patient will need to wait several months for the implant to fuse with the jawbone before the final restorative crown can be attached. Our dentists at Hood River Dental can assess your condition and often recommend a retainer or nightguard to be worn, to help alleviate symptoms.
